Dominic knew all about risks. He risked his life every day on the streets just to provide a life for his little sister. When their mother passed away and left his sister with him and him alone; Dominic was basically thrust into the role of father. His sister was something he had never told Veronica about.
Not that he was ashamed of her, but more of their conversations had been light. He didn't want to burden her down with too many of his own problems. She didn't know about the gang he was in. She didn't know that he was a single dad or even that he had a kid. He didn't share those things with her and thought it might have been constrewed as an insult to their connection he didn't want to scare away his one connection with the real world.
She was his whole social life in a sense. She was the only girl he was talking to. He wasn't some playboy stringing along multiple women. His mother had raised him with more respect for women than that. And though he was a gangbanging thug who had killed people before....It wasn't who he was as a person. Deep down he was a kind, caring guy who just wanted to do right by his kid. He was going to tell her today.
He was going to lay it all out on the line and hope that this friendship would blossom into more than just that. Because though he hadn't shared a deeply personal part of his life with her, there were things she was hiding from him too. Things she was afraid of him knowing. Dominic felt connected to her. She was funny.
God was she funny. She made him laugh when his hands were covered in blood and he returned home just hating the type of person he was. She had brought a smile to his lips. It was never even anything important either just stupid little things. Random little conversations that jumped from movies to tv to music to art, politics the girl just got him. Domic was wearing a black shirt with black jeans and sneakers. HIs hair was pulled back in braided dredlocks as he pulled up to the library.
This was it. Moment of truth. She had no idea what he even looked like. She never asked. Maybe because she never intended to meet him until he sprung this on her. He sat there staring out the window for a few long hard moments. He almost wanted to drive away. His stomach was twisting and turning in knots, and he almost.....That's when he saw her. God damn. Is that her? She was gorgeous.... Dominic parked the car and got out. His heart beating rapidly as he approached her. tagged: x || word count: x || notes: x

As she said that she was possibly camera shy, Dominic got a strange feeling in his gut. What if she was telling lies. What if she wasn't who she really claimed to be? Sure, the chances were low that she was after his identity or anything that dramatic, but it was the internet after all. Still. He was more concerned about her not measuring up to the beautiful woman she had described herself as.
He was a man and no matter how platonic the friendship was, every man would have asked what she looked like. She described herself like a dream, and really that's what he had imagined. Even if she wasn't a beautiful redhead with perfect skin like his imagination told him she was, he would be okay with whatever she turned out to be.
Beyond the superficial of looks and attractiveness he had grown rather attached to this anonymous screen name that typed to him on his phone. Dominic thought about his next reply carefully. He was about to type something back but she started typing again saying maybe he could see her in person. A cocky smirk washed over his face as he turned on the smooth and instantly typed back.
Darkpassenger23 is typing.....
Darkpassgenger23: I'm free tomorrow. Pick you up from the Stedderson Library on main street at 4pm....Goodnight goldengirl. I'll see you tomorrow....
Dominic didn't give her a chance to turn his offer down. Instead he logged off of his account and sighed. Setting the phone on the nightstand beside the bed he actually stared at it for a while before falling asleep.
Not really concerning himself with the phone actually, but zoning out and thinking about their meeting tomorrow. Dominic couldn't tell you how long he laid there daydreaming before eventually falling asleep. It wasn't long though as his imagination took him off to dreamland.

Dominic waited patiently for goldengirl to finish typing her message. He sat quietly thinking about all the choices in his life up until this point. The only good thing he had ever done was looking after his little sister.
If goldengirl knew him, i mean really knew him. He wasn't entirely sure she would turn away in disgust. But that was kinda the beauty of an internet friendship. He didn't have to justify himself to her because she didn't have to know every one of his deep dark secrets.
Goldengirl25: Honestly. Haven’t been sleeping too well these past few days, thinking I need someone to knock me out for a bit.
Darkpassenger23: That's not good. I can't imagine anyone wanting to do that. But if you're not sleeping well. I have plenty of room over here in my bed. It could use a woman's touch....
Dominic was honestly a bit nervous. He hadn't really dared to push the bounderies of their friendship to new and exciting places yet, but he wondered......
Darkpassenger23 is typing....
Darkpassenger23: By the way... You should send me a picture. Bet your beautiful. After the crappy day he had, he wouldn't have minded at all a little honest to goodness attention from a beautiful creature with a beautiful spirit.

There was a time when Dominic found himself innocent. Back when his mom was still alive and he had hope for a future. He wanted to work with animals. A love for the little creatures had always brought a smile to his face. He had decided he was going to go to school to become a veterinarian.
That seemed like a long time ago. Back before blood soaked his knuckles and he carried a gun. Now he was nothing more than a thug. A criminal and a scumbag not worthy of being a role model of his little sister Naomi. The kid was all he had. He never knew who his pops was. That asshole bailed out when he was nothing more than a little pink line on a pregnancy test. There was a big age difference between them. Dominic was 23 and Naomi was only 8. Suddenly he found himself raising a kid by himself with cancer stole away the only role model he ever looked up too.
Shit. It was just the same. Statistics said he was going to end up in a gang anyways. Coming from a poor neighborhood where the cops didn't give a shit about you.... It was up to you to brandish your own street justice. Popping off on a fool and gunning them down meant someone came shooting back at you and your people. It was a violent circle and it went around and around, but the money wasn't bad. Boosting cars and stealing stereos kept his little sister in clean Dora the Explorer t-shirts and put applejacks on the breakfast table. They weren't living like kings, but they were getting by.
Dominic sighed as he came home. Sticking his key into the lock and opening the door to find another bill stuffed through the mail slot. Bending over to pick it up he looked at it with tired eyes. Past due. Fuck. I just paid them! He thought as he tossed the bill on the side. He could hear movement in the back of the house and quickly he stuck his gun in the closet. Retrieving it from the back of his sweatpants where it was hidden. He stuffed it in an old shoebox.
"Dom. Is that you?" He heard a voice call out. "Yeah, Misses K. It's me. Thanks for watching Naomi for me." He said calling out to the disembodied voice with no owner. Then around the corner came his elderly neighbor. Man, she was a god send. Taking time to handle some street business meant he needed to find a sitter and Misses K was always available to watch her. Dom figured she missed the human connection. Her husband had passed on and she had nothing to do but sit and watch the kids on the street. Must've been lonely. "She's already eaten and she has quite the little ego beating me twice in monopoly." She said patting Naomi on the back. "You're terrible at that game." The little girl honestly replied.
"Aye! Why don't you get ready for bed little shorty I'll come in and read to you in a minute. Thanks Misses K. You really saved my but tonight." Dominic said. He didn't have the heart to tell her that he needed a sitter so he could go out and kill someone. Yes, Dominic was a murderer but it wasn't by choice. He was foolish enough to get tangled up in a gang because the promise of a payday when he really needed it was too good to pass up. He should have gotten a job flipping burgers or something because now they owned him. If he hadn't found a way to kill that guy.... It would have been his little sister with fresh slugs in her. That was the way it worked with The Bastards. The Bastards were a street gang that owned his ass. Now, he was just a puppet cashing checks paid for with blood money and doing what he had to, to keep his sister healthy and alive.
Naomi left to go get ready for bed, when Misses K looked down and gasped at Dominic's shoes. They had blood on them. "Oh, that's ketchup. I stopped for a burger on the way back home. Goodnight Misses K. I'll call you tomorrow alright?" He said ushering her out the door before she had a chance to form any questions. Fuck. He locked the door behind her and quickly kicked off the shoes. He didn't need baby girl seeing all that. Moving through the house he went upstairs and went to Naomi's bedroom to read to her. She was already in bed. Lights out and everything. "Oh what? So you getting to old for me to read to you huh?" Naomi looked at him from the dark. "Yeah, but leave my night light on okay? I don't want the boogey man to find me."
Dom frowned. "He's not going to find you. And can I tell you a secret?" He looked at her and she nodded slightly. "The boogey man works for me. He just prowls the house sometimes to make sure we're both safe." He lied. "Like a body guard?" "Exactly little mama. Not get some sleep. You got school tomorrow." He said tucking her in. Turning on the night light for her Dominic shook his head and walked down the hall. His bedroom was at the other end of the hall and he needed to unwind.
That's when his phone buzzed off.
Instant message session started:
Goldengirl25: Morning. Hope your night was more eventful than mine
Darkpassenger23 is typing...….
Dark passenger23: Aye. Been thinking about you. Night was shit. Could use a friendly voice in my ear. What happened with you?
Dominic sat there a few moments staring at his phone. The soft glow lighting up his face as he closed the door to his bedroom. Kicking off his pants and pulling off his hoody he got comfortable and slipped into his silk sheets. So far this was just a friendship. Nothing had ventured far into romantic lanes, though he wouldn't have been opposed. The only thing though... Neither of them knew what the other looked like.
It was purely intellectual. He talked her up when she was feeling down and he had shared a little bit too. About his mom's death and raising his kid sister. Giving up college trying to be a provider when she had no one else to turn too... It felt good to get some of this stress off his chest and just tell it to someone who was understanding and willing to listen. Dominic didn't tell her he was a member of the Bastards. She thought he worked at a super store as a cashier.
Darkpassenger23: Come on...Don't clam up on me now. Tell me why your day was bad. Give me a reason...And I'll make you smile.
He said trying his best to be cute and flirty. It was harmless and he would never introduce someone into his little sister's life unless it was serious. Dominic had a few girls that he messed around with, but it was never anything physical. And nothing recently. No, he stopped talking to them when he first started talking to the mysterious golden girl.

x Dominic Deans NAME. Dominic Deans NICKNAME. Havoc AGE: 23 MEMBER GROUP. mutant GENDER: . male SEXUAL ORIENTATION. Straight POWER: Dark Form STRENGTHS:. Dominic can transform his body into a supernaturally powered alter form. In this form Dominic gets a number of powers. When he is non transformed Dominic has no powers. But when transformed his touch can burn. Hot enough to sizzle skin. Sear flesh down to the bone. When transformed Dominic has the ability to fly, claw through metal and chew through steel. Some limited supernatural strength applies as well. Every part of his body becomes reinforced and more powerful. He has a high resistance to damage when transformed. He can take a tremendous super powered beating and get up.
When transformed Dominic's skin takes on a smoky almost gas like form. The substance it is comprised of is unknown even to Dominic but it is lethal if inhaled and can make you pass out if in close proximity in an enclosed space for long periods. He is essentially poisonous in this form. When transformed Dominic is just a passenger. The dark form takes control and doesn't give back control until his enemies are dead or incapacitated. The dark form of Dominic is hard to control and will not listen to reason. Dominic sets the wheels in motion thinking a single thought before he switches forms. The dark form will carry out this thought without end until the job is done. Whatever Dominic is thinking about doing before he transforms becomes the dark forms only goal and it can not be deterred no matter what.
WEAKNESS: The dark form is his other half but Dominic can regain control in only a few ways. One if he is knocked out he looses all powers and becomes non super powered Dominic again. Two if Dominic's goal is completed somehow for him and he has no linear objective to complete the dark form will subside giving control back to Dominic. This can be inconvenient if Dominic sent the dark form on a mission to kill a single guy; if the guy dies the mission is over the dark form disappears and Dominic will need to recharge his strength and refocus before he can transform again. That could leave Dominic in a situation where he has to take on several thugs alone with no powers. It is a careful what you wish for type of situation.
When not transformed the dark form seems to have a mind of it's own. Dominic can hear it's whispers in his mind. Begging him to let loose his powerful soul. The dark form enjoys chaos and likes when Dominic gives in to the power trip. The dark form may not be on Dominic's side. The dark form may have an alternate agenda.
