It’s a damn cold night
trying to figure out this life
Living on the streets there was one thing that mattered.
Survival…
Though, not many people gave a shit about the people on the streets. Those with money, jobs, families. They didn’t have to worry about surviving because they already had everything they needed in their life. All they had to do was pass by the poor unfortunate souls that had to fight and scrape up food, or money to buy something to just drink. Lilith had that problem since she left home. The terrible accident that led her here haunted her every night. Dark circles were obvious as she stood under the street light.
When the walking light came on she quickly crossed and walked the familiar streets. There had been a place she’s been meaning to visit. A new place that from the sounds of it gave a lot of the street kids hope. Though she’d been by, peeking in the window to watch the cute owner of the store teaching them to defend themselves. But like every other business over here, gangs and other criminals would probably try and bully him out, extort him for protection money or something else terrible. She knew how these streets worked.
The only thing that was different was the people in the dark alley’s steered clear of Lilith. She was a beauty, like a beautiful venus fly trap. Something you would never expect to be so deadly. She’s had to prove so many times how deadly her powers could be. She’d come close to killing a few people to make sure they left her alone. But that didn’t mean everyone believed those that barely survived. Pulling the leather gloves a little tighter she watched the streets with cautious eyes.
Though turning the corner she noticed a figure on the grounding leaning against the brick of the boxing building. She barely caught the other figures running off before running and getting closer. “Oh, my God. Are you okay?” She asked getting on her knees next to the man she’s ogled from afar. Gently she placed her fingers under his chin to just get a better look at his face. But the light outside wasn’t the best. “Let’s get you back inside and look you over. Give me your hand.” She said and when he did, she slowly rose with him.
Helping him inside she brought him back to his room where light had been flooding out. Getting him to sit down on the small couch against the wall she looked him over better. “They really did a number on you… Where’s your first aid kit?” She asked and she paused seeing the look on his face. Something of skepticism. She understood it, but he didn’t exactly have much of a choice. “I’m Lilith.”
