the looks
FACE CLAIM. Jon Seda
HEIGHT. 5'11"
WEIGHT. 178lbs
IDENTIFYING FEATURES. An Eagle, Globe & Anchor tattoo on his left forearm and a USMC Devil Dog tattoo on the right forearm
OVERALL. Outside of the tattoos and the occasional smirkish look across his face at times, John Basilone, III is almost a spitting image of his grandfather - firm, solid Italian looks all around. Short-cut brown hair frames a squarishly round face that seems to always have a perpetual smile (unlike his partner, Agent Felix, who seems to wear a scowl 24-7-365) and his body looks as though it was cut from the same Central Italian granite his forebears were cut from.
the personality
POSITIVE TRAITS. humorously irreverent, hard-working, friendly, quick-thinking
NEGATIVE TRAITS. quick temper, irritable at times, will fight at the drop of a hat, suffers PTSD at times from his service in Iraq and Afghanistan
OVERALL. Personality wise, John Basilone III is just about your archetypical Italian-American: always carrying a chip on his shoulder about this or that but also always working his butt off to get the job done. Although he suffers from PTSD as a result of his military service, he's been able to set it aside so that he can do his job of protecting America from the nascent mutant threat. Ironically, he doesn't have a problem with most mutants but as he often tells his partner, "We got a job to do, so let's do it."
the history
FATHER. John Basilone, Jr. (age 67yo, retired US Army Sgt. Major)
MOTHER. Celia Basilone (age 65yo, retired schoolteacher)
SIBLINGS. 3 younger sisters - Sarah, 23yo, Celia Ann 25yo and Faith, 28yo
OTHER FAMILY. numerous relatives throughout northern New Jersey and back home in Central Italy
HOMETOWN. Raritan, NJ
OVERALL. Growing up in a family where his father, his grandfather and several relatives served or are serving in the military, it was a given that young John Basilone, III would also serve and serve he did - 8 years in the United States Marine Corps, including two tours in Iraq and a tour in Afghanistan while serving with the 2nd Marine Division's Engineer Battlaion (2nd Combat Engineer Bn.), eventually receiving an honorable discharge as a staff sergeant in 2009.
Soon after his discharge, John exchanged his olive greens' for a civilian badge working the federal government's shadowy GADEM organization; after 10 months of training, he soon grew to like field operations and has served in GADEM Operations his entire time. Currently, he's partnered with Agent Felix, another GADEM field agent and while the two could not be more opposite, the two work well together and that's all that matters...
