It wasn't like Sean was entirely used to being alone. Sometimes he felt the need for social interaction. Maybe he should buy a puppy. The thought of being free and open with anyone filled him with dread. Instead he chose to be a cold hearted cynic with sarcasm as his shield and asshole tendencies as his sword that he slayed with. What was he slaying? A social life. Sean was a member of the fool's dice club. The patch on his jacket read 'enforcer'. Sean was the sledgehammer in the tool kit. He was brought in when things had to be done and messages had to be sent. Did he like his work? Not really. Sean was an asshole, but it didn't mean he wanted to be a leg breaker.
For all his gifts and all his talents, Sean could have found a better way to use them. It wasn't all bad. The money was pretty decent. He was just the type of guy to prosper in this environment. He lacked morals, and empathy, and mostly just cared about himself. There was his club family, of course he cared about those guys, but anyone else were on their own. Sean was overall just conflicted. He had been to prison more times than you could count. He had escaped prison more times than you could count too. One of these days they were going to realize the only way to keep Sean locked up was to toss him in a dark cell with no windows.
With no shadows to bleed into, escape was impossible. Sean sighed. He was staring at his reflection in a dingy bathroom mirror. He stood there reflecting on the choices he had made. Behind him in his reflection he could see graffitti on the walls. For a good time call amy shoemaucker! 483-573-3856 the wall said. It was just one among many other scribblings. He had pulled a job for the fool's dice club tonight.
Sean looked back at his reflection and stared hard. His hands gripped the sides of the sink. He could feel the wetness underneath his fingertips. The edges of the mirror began to shake and blur. Sean continued to stare. The wall behind him started to rip open and bleed black ooze. Thick heavy gloopos of black puss bled over the phone number that disgraced poor Amy Shoemaucker. Sean never moved. His silver hair blew lightly around as if there was a breeze in the room. He sighed and cold breath spilled out of his lips. Frost ran up the edges of the mirror as the room was suddenly freezing. The crack in the wall behind him got larger and more of that black thick liquid came pouring out of the growing cracks. It was the dark dimension. It was the place of unspeakable evil.
The bathroom door swung open and a half drunk man stumbled in. It broke Sean's concentraition. The mirror stopped shaking. The room stopped freezing and the cracks in the wall were all sealed and fixed. Sean was bleeding dark energy into the real world. He looked at the man who stumbled in. The man gave him a curious look. "You okay pal?" The man asked. Sean looked back to the mirror to realize that his nose was bleeding. His eyes were wide and frightened as he wiped it away with the back of his hand. Smears of red stained his hands as he hurried outside the bathroom.
Shawn walked over to the bar. "Give me a beer!" He shouted. He didn't turn to face the girl beside him. Sean was able to pull himself and others to the shadow dimension. It was a place of great and death. It was a place where no sound existed at all. Everything was monotone and looked like it was burned to ash and rebuilt with the cinders. It was a place where the air was hard to breath and joy was hard to find. It was a awful depressing place, where ash rained from the sky 24/7 like falling snow.
It was a place where he could go to be alone with the shadows and find an escape from the waking world. But more recently he had disocvered the dark dimension. Another place, where cretures lived. Things that scared the hell out of him. A place of crushing dark and evil energies. A place that he was desperate trying to control, but was failing. His nose started to bleed again. The bar tender put his beer down and gave him a weird look before leaving. His nose dripped black ooze.
Feeling the warmth running down his nose Shawn wiped his nose. Fuck. He didn't want to be here. He didn't want the accusing stares and the wild accusations to start flying. People were still so jumpy around mutants and it didn't help that he was bleeding black shit out of his nostrils. Shawn slapped a 5 dollar bill down for the beer he barely touched and stepped off the stool. Stepping out into the cold night he sighed letting out a foggy breath as it touched the night sky. It was too early to head back to the club and too late for him to get into anything interesting. Fuck again. He didn't want to call it quits but there wasn't much else for him to do besides ride back to the club and crash. Fuck this city. Shawn walked over to the curb where his bike was parked and straddled the motorcycle. He revved the handle a few times before peeling out into the night. He cut off a bently in the process and almost clipped his bumper. Dick.
Shawn was breaking the speed limit. Weaving in and out of traffic like a madman and bleeding back and forth into the shadow world. Everytime someone drove to slow for his liking he allowed his body to shift, to sink into that otherworldly ethereal place and take his bike with him. Shadow and darkness kissing spinning rubber as grey tredlines appeared on the tires. Thicker and thicker each time he traveled through realms. Shawn phased through cars by moving through them in another dimension. He drove through the back seat of a honda though he was never really there. His bike passed right between a bickering husband and wife; driving right through the dashboard only he was just a shadow that passed between them speeding by in the sunken place of shadow and ash. God he loved having the ability to flicker in and out of worlds like that. It was a feeling that made his balls feel like they were solid lead. And damn he felt powerful. Godly almost. Even gods get lonely.
It was the real reason he didn't want to head back to the clubhouse. Most of the members had found themselves a queen. A loyal fucking sidekick to wade through the shit with. Others were content with one night stands and fucking masquerading around with their dicks in a different woman every night. Not Shawn. He wasn't the commitment type because he didn't believe that anyone could love a piece of shit like him and he didn't burden any woman with his piddly ass problems, but he wanted that for sure. He wanted something to keep him grounded. Someone he could die for. Someone he could live for.
Shawn shifted back into the living world and realized how fucking cold it was. HIs breath was still scraping across the night sky as he exhaled. The bike was louder, ringing in his ears. Every time he dipped into the land of shadow it grew quiet in an instant as no sound existed there but when he came back he heard the buzzsaw ripping through the evening streets. He stopped at a stoplight and put his feet on the ground. NO traffic. The city was dead. Nightlife in Detroit was all sex parties and strip clubs. Assholes throwing their hard earned down at sweaty hard bottles and bottles of liquor. It got boring though. Shawn was about to light a cigarette at the stop light when he saw lights up ahead. A fucking circus was in town? "Gimme a break." Shawn mumbled. He was about to write it off as bullshit when the light turned green, but something kept him staring. Some unexplainable force pulled him into the madness. He stared at the carosel and the dancing lights. He could almost hear the laughter on the air and the smell of popcorn in his fucking nostrils.
What brought him crashing back to reality was the honk of the car behind him. The light was green. Shawn looked up and nodded and sped off. Call it fate or whatever you like but he pulled up to the carnival with interest. Parking his bike in the field just outside the main entrance he walked through the grass with a childlike look of curiosity pulling at his features. How had he not noticed this fucking thing being set up. It was a block away from the Fool's club. Hell he could see the fool's dice club from here. Light up with it's pink and blue neon sign that read "Fool's Rush In." Shawn was quietly walking when a voice intereupted his thoughts. "Ticket please!" Blinking a few times he looked around. "What?" A smiling face in a box he hadn't notice informed him he needed a ticket. "How much?" He snapped. The man shook his head laughing.
"No, no....For you....It's free. Here is your ticket sir. Do enjoy yourself." He said sliding a ticket out of the booth. Shawn took it hesitantly and stared at the big floppy ticket. "Ticket please?" The man said again. Staring at him Shawn handed him back the ticket he had just gotten when he promptly ripped up and put in a smaller locked box. "Thank you Mr. Silverman wonder awaits you...." "How did you.... Fuck it." Shawn said pushing his way through the turnstyle. There were sights and sounds and crazy shit everywhere. A god damned elephant walked right in front of his path as some midget walked it around on a leash.
The owner of the circus knew he was here. He wanted him here and him finding this place was no accident. Gavin Sinclaire watched from the shadows with growing interest and subtle curioisity at his curious new guest. Shawn found his way around not really trying any of the rides or games just taking it all in. He still didn't know why he had the overwhelming feeling that he NEEDED to be here but it was still strong within his heart. Seeing a tent reading forturne teller he stepped inside. What did lady luck have in store for him? Bullshit wrapped in tradgey covered in disappointment? The inside of the tent was dark and there were inscents burning. It was larger than it looked on the inside. There were jeweled beaded curtains hanging and no one in sight. "Hello?" He called out. Great. Just my luck. He thought turning to leave when a voice called back....

It was long believed that the circus was filled with mutated and deformed inbred freaks. This was before human biology evolved and started to become something spectacularly beautiful. The world today was so technology obsessed that a circus or carnival wss something just in b rate horror flicks. Though this circus had been something special to start for some. Andi had been here since she was a little girl, found in the ash of a burning disintegrating town. One who had turned on her and cast her out. None were her family because her real family had orphaned her years before. This was the place that Gavin had found this special girl and taken her somewhere safe.
Over the years she had grown to consider this man her father and she had been very loyal to him. Even so far as to alter memories and take special mutants captive in the circus. Gavin always said they had horrific histories to get her to agree. She was so very willing to save other 'poor' souls and bring them into this happy life. Well if you counted half stale popcorn and soggy funnel cakes happy. Then it was a paradise to the corrupted crowd who came here for cheap thrills and staged mutant fights. It was pretty barbaric and honestly Andi didn't have a part of it. She was tucked away closer to the entrance in a mystic looking tent. She Was At The Back of Her Tent Gathering Baskets Of Herbs And Jems To Set Up. When She Heard A Voice She Froze For A Moment.
Turning Around She Moved Through A Beaded Curtian. "You Are Hear SeaKing Something You Missing." Andi Spoke In The Same Soft Tone She Had Spoken Many Times Before. Normally It Was For Cheap Thrills And Show To The Humans In A Way To Gain Money. Her Eyes Moved Over The Features Of The Man Who Had Wandered Into Her Tent. His Expression Was Cold As The Iced White Tips In His Hair. Using A Hand She Features For Him To Sit Across From Her At A Table Wuth A Crystal Ball. Sliding Into Her Seat She Smiled Softly And Ran Fingers Over The Ball Causing A Fog To Appear. It Was Fake Of Course But It Still Looked Erie To The Week Minded Fools. "Take My Hand Shawn. Let's See What Is Missing In Your Soul."
Her Hands Extend As Her Brown Eyes Looked Towards Him And Found A Blank Expression That Had Skeptical undertones. Taking His Hands She Closed Her Eyes And It Hit Her Like A Car Hitting A Wall At 100 Miles An Hour. Visions Of Her IN The Park Walking Hand In Hand With Shawn And A Small Silver Haired Girl. A Wedding On A Mountain Side And A Huge Yard With A Garden And Picket Fence. Quiet Nights At Home Curled Up On The Couch With Him. Everything Was Rushing Her And She Quickly Jerked Her Hands Away. A wide eyed Expression On Her Face As She Looked Up At Him. "Im Sorry. No Charge. I Can't Help You With What You Seek." Standing Up Quickly She Moved Past HIm And Into The Night Air.
Her Mind Was Dealing From Something She Never Expected. It Was To Much And She Didn't Want This Mutant To Stay. This Was The One Gavin Had Come For But She Just CouldNt Risk Getting Closer. Weaving Through Tents She Moved Into Ther Trailer And Sat Infront Of The Mirror. Looking At Her Reflection She Started To Try And Fix Her Hair. Breathing Deeply To Slow Her Fast Heart As She Contemplated How To Tell Her Father She Wouldn't Capture This One.

Shawn wasn't really sure what he was expecting. Maybe she could give him some answers about this mysterious new dimension he found sitting at his doorstep. The sunken place, the land of shadow sure he was used to but the dark dimension. This place of oozing black puss and hissing voices in his ear was something worse. Something that even a bad guy like him was a little afraid of. Yeah he had tried to peek behind the veil and see into the darkness; but every time had left him bleeding with a screaming headache and agony for his troubles. Shawn couldn't go to the dark dimension.
He wasn't ready, and the fact that a place called to him like a warm voice in his ear was scary enough. He knew he should be terrified. Shitting his pants even, but he wanted to be in the dark dimension so he peeked behind the veil and paid the price again and again. That's what he did at the bar tonight. Tried to get a little taste of the wickedly sour freedom it offered. To indulge in a little darkness and let the ooze consume him. Shawn was drawn to the dark dimension like a moth to the flame because the dark dimension was his bad side. His twisted thoughts and for someone who didn't like to be a leg breaker and wanted to step away from the violence..... He had a lot of it to offer up in his blackened soul.
"Take my hand Shawn...." How the fuck did everyone know my name? He thought. It was beginning to piss him off a little bit. She might have been a fortune teller but all this mystic bullshit was sour grapes to a non believer. He only entertained the idea because he was lost. A wonderbound child drifting through the isles of a toy store just taking in everything that was at his greedy fingertips. This place was special, but he didn't know why. It made him feel like a kid again. If you could believe it. Just being in this circus brought back feelings of how he felt as a child. A kid running around with a cape around his neck pretending to be a superhero. Back when he still had some fucking innocence to give to the world. Shawn shifted anxiously in his seat as she did her crystal ball bit. He watched the smoke and smirked. His buckled boot kicked up the table cloth to show the smoke machine underneath. Nice try lady. He thought with a smirk growing wider on his expressionless face.
For the moment he was calm. No anger swelled up behind his throbbing eyes. He didn't feel the familiar tug of rage biting at the tips of his fingers as his increasing pulse beat through them. He was just bored. Shifting again in his seat he saw a fan at the back of the room. Must've been why the table cloth was so fucking billowy. He bit though. Rolling his eyes and allowing the charade to go on a little longer. Mostly because she was beautiful and he didn't mind the fact that she was holding his rough, metaphorically blood stained hands. He hadn't held something that soft in awhile. But as quickly as she grasped his hand she was recoiling. "Hey! What the fuck!?" He croaked. The fortune teller nearly knocked over the table as she stood up abruptly. Shawn was into chivalry and all that shit but it didn't mean he watched his language in the presence of a lady.
Shawn watched her bolt from the tent and he quickly got up to follow. He watched her run across the lot and into a trailer. Nice digs. Shawn used his boot to step on the switch for the smoke machine. Last thing she needed was some asshole bursting in with a fire extinguisher because he thought she was on fire. The smoke settled and cleared and Shawn shook his head. He came here for answers and only got more questions. Mystic bullshit or not he wanted to know what all that was about. He wasn't exactly buying into the fact that she was reading his future. Sure the world was full of mutants but it was also full of phonies too. Something freaked her out though. He needed to know what that was. Shawn stepped out of the tent and straightened his leather studded fool's dice jacket.
As he made his way over to the tent a man in a top had with an irritating smile stepped in his way. "Excuse me good sir, a moment of your time. For your enjoyment behold a talent of mine!" The asshole was speaking in riddles and rhymes like Dr. Suess. Shawn shoved him out of the way. He didn't have time for showman ship or irritating blowhards. "Step out of my way I really insist unless your nose wants to meet my fist." Shawn snapped back; quick with a rhyme of his own. Shawn shoved the handsome irritating asshole out of his way and went straight to the trailer. He pounded on the door with a closed fist and took a step back.
"Hey! Look. Women don't usually have that reaction to me until after they get to know me. What the fuck happened? Did you see me like die or something?" Shawn was in a dangerous line of work. That was a very real possibility. Maybe she was just a girl with a weak stomach and the sight of so much blood in a vision freaked her. "Hey! What'd you see?" Fuck. Maybe she was in there calling the cops cus she saw something I had done. Shawn grabbed the handle and ripped open the door. He slowed his role when he saw her sitting down. Clearing his throat and feeling suddenly bad about the intrusion his voice softened. "You alright?"

She was afraid of what she had seen for so many reasons. The fact was her past had left her with many deep scars and those scars was were something dark liked to fester. Like maggots writhing around in a week old carcass on the roadways. She was humming a tune as she combed her hair with a silver brush that she had been gifted to her many years ago by Gavin. "Because two can keep a secret if one of them is dead." She finished the tune in a song as she slowly when through her dark hair. In her mind she was replaying the visions of what she seen. It was so much to sort out but it cause her to fear it even more. Andi did not want a family nor did she want to get to know some man.
They last few times she had tried to reach out to another soul for friendship. Any sort of connection they had some tragic accident befall them. Blacked out memories that she knew led to what happened to those poor men. Andi was in her own mind and didn't hear the naming on the door. The yelling outside was just a mumble in her subconscious. It wasn't til he entered that she came back out of her mind and turned. Items in her trailer had been levitating and they all slammed back down into their spots. He was asking if she was alright and her eyes avoided his gaze. Turning back to her vanity she set the brush down and looked into the mirror. Her heart was racing she took a deep breath but the trailer started to shake. "You have to get out..."
She warned but it was to late and black swam over and changed her eyes. Nothing left in them but a black abyss and the body of the woman turned. "Awe..too late..poor little Andi always so weak, running from her fears." The voice from the woman had a slight deepness to it as she looked at Shawn. "Well well well seems to me that it's kinda of cruel to chase you away. Really to take away the chance of such happiness and that little girl was cuter than can be." The black eyed woman spoke as she moved towards Shawn. "Have a seat take a load off." With a flick of her wrist she sent Shawn backwards into a chair. Climbing into his lap the small frame of the woman would straddle him.
"You know you two love birds looked really happy into those memories. A little girl and house with a white picket fence? To bad Andi will never let you have the chance...." it spoke before falling back off his lap and hitting the floor. The body twitched a bit and Andi regained control of her consciousness. Looking up at Shawn who had to be fifty shades of confused by now she just made it to her feet and backed away. "I...i...um...you should leave this place.. The circus and everything here is not what it seems. Please go.."

The walls of the trailer began to shake. Shawn's world shook and rumbled violently when the dark dimension was opening up. He honestly thought that was what was happening at first. "Fuck not now." He complained, but no tears ripped through the walls. The trailer did not bend in half and black slime did not creep it's way from the broken fragments. This wasn't his doing. Shawn looked around confused, impressed and a little worried at what was happening before him. If this wasn't him then it had to be her. So she wasn't just a snake oil salesman afterall. She did have some kind of abilities. That only begged the question what the fuck did she see that freaked her out so much?
Shawn raised an eyebrow when her eyes went all black and soulless. Her voice changed and things were floating around in the air again. He didn't think she really noticed. Didn't seem intentional but things behind her floated off the table slightly as if her power had grown by leaps and bounds. He tried to listen to what she was saying but it wasn't making any sense. It was jumpled incomprehensible drivel. Like he had walked into the conversation halfway through. "Is this.... Still part of the show because I got to be honest. It's a little fucking weird." He said bluntly. He was an asshole and he never tried to hide the fact. Though his question was answered with a telekentic shove and he went flying into a chair.
Girl didn't know her own strength. Fuck, that could have broken his back as the chair slammed into the back wall so hard it sent a crack in the glass window of the trailer. Luckily he was a big boy. He could handle a little roughness. "Damn girl. Take it easy!" Shawn looked around the trailer to see random objects flying his way in a violent storm of chaos. Pens, pencils and.... Yeah, a compact mirror that bounced off his forehead. Shawn listened to the bit about the little girl. Replayed the words in his head, words about love and family and a little house on the prarie lifes. Right like he would ever find anyone dumb enough to put up with his shit.
Suddenly the show was over. She was lying on the floor waking up from whatever psychotic break she was having. She looked at him and his first question might have surprised her. "Can I buy some weed from you?" He asked in a stupid leading question. She ignored it and told him to get out. That old song and dance again. "...………..I....What the fuck?!? Like, not even going to lie. Soooo many questions right now.... Like for one what kind of fortune teller are you? Are you off your meds? What's wrong with the circus and why do I feel like I belong here?" He realized he had spit several questions at her at once and sat back down. Without realizing it he had stood from his chair in his line of questioning. "Seriously are you okay? You look like a hobo shit sandwich." He meant that in the kindest possible way.

Growing up the circus had been her shelter from the cruel world out there and Gavin was her safety. The few time she had tried to leave she had been met with hatred and hostility. Little did she know Gavin had payed these people to shun her and send her running back. After all she had been a gold mine in collecting talent for him. She kept the talent quiet and happy with fabricated memories planted in their minds. The ones that said they belonged right there with the family of misfit freaks. Andi hadn't tried to leave for a few years now as she accepted her fate of being alone.
She was content in her life and was happy to spend her days reading a nice book while spending nights having money tossed at her illusions. Then this silver haired biker had to ride into her circus and ruin things. Give her glimpses of a beautiful life that she so eagerly wanted and perhaps he was just a trickster. Maybe those visions were something he implanted in her mind but she didn't sense telepathic abilities in him. Her eyes rested on the man and she listened to his words and she gave a unamused sigh. At least he wasn't running for the door to gather the pitchfork wielding lynch mob.
Though as he started his barrage of following questions she started to step back. He had risen from his seat and his larger frame towered over her a bit. It made her nervous shockingly enough with all her powers she wouldn't really dare harm a fly. Not willingly of course and she just let out a sigh. Haring him ask if she was alright again then insult her looks she gave him a bit of a angry glare. "Arent you such a charmer? Tell me do all the ladies fall for those lines?" She snapped at him as she glanced at the mirror on her vanity and fixed her hair a bit.
Turning back to Shawn she stepped closer one slow foot step after the other. Kneeling before him she put her hands on his and gazed into his eyes. "This circus is a trap. We came here for you and you have to leave now or you will never get out." She started as she closed her eyes and started to fill with visions she had seen either but this time she delved deeper. Into his actual memories she saw the abuse his mother had suffered and the way she covered for shawn who killed his father. Trying to keep his innocence a bit longer and a new scene arose. The vision of a caped boy and his mother infront of the very same circus only years before.
It was then that she left go of his hand and quickly stood up. "You have lingered to long. She wouldn't want you here... I didn't know it was...Hurry out the back door and turn left at the third tent. It will lead you to freedom...Please go now." Andi spoke but before than she would lean up and press her red painted lips to his. If she was letting her one chance at happiness leave she could at least find out what that felt like. Pulling away after a few moments she moved to the front door of her trailer and locked it quickly. "No hurry he knows your here!!."

Scratching at his beard he supposed the hobo shit sandwich line was a bit much. He forgot sometimes how sensitive women were to things like that. Shawn was gruff and rough around the edges. He never sprinkled sugar on shit and called it a sundae. He told the truth even when you didn't want to hear it. He was an asshole and he supposed that sometimes that bled into his personality at the worst of times. "You know.....I'm not as popular with the ladies as you'd think." He admitted. Shawn was a professional at pushing people away. It was his modius operandi. He was about as damaged and dysfunctional as you could be and still walk a straight line.
When she spoke again Shawn listened to her carefully. Every word. Every word slow dripped into his ear like soft honey. He couldn't keep his eyes off those red painted lips and eventually his careful listening turned into wanting lust and wild daydreams. She was a radiant kind of beauty. The sort of thing you only see in paintings in a museum. The things she was saying though..... They made him nervous. She seemed more like a prisoner than a willing employee of this freak show and yet..... No one was in chains around here. Shawn didn't see locks on her doors. He couldn't make out what the real problem was. She said this place was a trap. That they came here for him. "Lady....You're still talking in riddles." He sighed.
She was urging him to go and he was ready to oblige. Not that this hadn't been an eye opening experience, it had. He learned a great deal. He learned that he needed to stop drinking so much. Shawn stood by the back door to the trailer. A sad confused look across his rugged face when she moved quickly up to him and pressed her lips to his. Shawn was no psychic but in that moment..... He felt like he belonged to her. In some strange way he felt like she was something that he was meant to hold on to. His hands found her waist and fingers curled into velvet fabric. The feel of her hips beneath his fingertips almost made his legs lock up. Shawn's hair burned brightly for a moment. Not just silver but pure white and neon fire. The tips of his hair swayed with a soft breeze that wasn't there as powerful emotion pulsed through him, falling off him in sheets.
It wasn't just darkness that he ruled, but light as well. Shawn was never good at accessing his sensitive side, but he had one. Somewhere buried beneathe the shit and sarcasm there was a good guy with a good heart. That little kid that ran around trying to save imaginary citizens from burning buildings. The kid that wanted to be a hero existed somewhere in his twisted morals. Maybe between the broken promises and the petty violence. "I...." Shawn started. His mouth closed as he wasn't sure what the fuck he was about to say. I can't leave? I think I love you? That was fucking stupid. Something had pulled him in here tonight like a powerful wave of nostalgia. Though he never remembered coming here as a child. Something about this place had drew him in. It was the alluring siren call of a powerful mutant that Gavin had. Her song was unheard but it pulled at your heart strings. It wasn't her siren song that made him feel this way now..... As if he had something supernaturally connecting his heart to hers.... Hell, he didn't even know her fucking name.
Shawn's hand was still on the door handle. His heart was hammering in his chest. This felt wrong. Even if he hadn't just had his toes curled with the kiss of the century he still felt weird about leaving her here. It was clear she didn't want to be here. She was obviously afraid of this place. So what the fuck? "Come with me...." He said. So quiet he almost didn't hear it himself. His hair was back to that powder silver. It had only flickered white neon for the moment of their kiss, but it glowed slightly at the notion that she leave with him. "Come with me." He said again only this time loud enough for her to hear him. He wasn't sure how Lulu would feel about him bringing home strays. But suddenly the absurd image of him asking Lulu in a little kid voice 'Can I keep it? I promise to take her for walks!" jumped into his head and he had to shake his head to get rid of the dumb ass thought.
She seemed caught off guard by his question. "Fuck it." Shawn said. Moving forward he pressed her flat up against the front door and pressed his lips to hers again. Only this time his hair was burning white hot. Flickering neon and bright enough to light the whole room. His eyes were white orbs of blankness. As bright as his hair. The room began to shake. Not because of her this time but him. His hand rested on the edge of the table. Finger dug into the solid oak as The world fractured at the seems. Light broke apart around the edges of reality and fleck danced in the night sky as the walls of the trailer came tumbling down. Shawn stood there, lips still pressed into hers at the world around them crumbled. Color faded from view as it seemed as if everything slowly died and bled color. Sound slowly dripped out of existence as silence took over control. The world became black and white. As the walls of the trailor shook violently and then fell apart.
They were standing in a field. The field just outside the trailor. In the real world her trailer was still intact. Still standing where it stood only they weren't there anymore. They were only a pair of shadows dancing around outside the trailer. A shift to the sunken place and a teleport for good measure they were outside. The soft breeze of the sunken air kissing their skin as Andromeda's tear drop lifted off her face and sparkled in front of her eye. It danced and shimmered for a moment before it raced off towards the half moon. Shawn was no stranger to the curiosities of the sunken place. He was a fucking king in the shadow realm and he had taken her here to help her too escape whatever was terrifying her. Nevermind the crazy babbling. There was no talking here. No sound at all. Shawn took her into his hands and looked at her with a soft smile. Would she be okay?

Her ability was sometimes the most distracting thing in the world and when her emotions got ahead of her it was harder to control. She could hear the thoughts of the circus crew and even Gavin searching the grounds looking for the new captive. They were getting closer but the man was stalling which made her anxious. She was prepared to use her power to flick him right out of the grounds. To him none of her crazy rants made sense but to her she knew she had to make him leave. She remembered him and his mom coming years ago and it had been hard to get his freedom.
Her father had been so angry when he found out but at least her got to keep the mother as a prize. She heard him speak under his breath and then finally ask her to come with him. Andis gaze met his and she stood there in a dead halt not sure what she wanted to do.All her attempts to leave the circus had been a disaster and she didn't trust humans but after what she had seen in her visions. Part of her wanted to just take a chance to go with him and face the consequences. Gavin would never let them have peace so they would have to run forever to try and stay away.
Before she even had a chance to answer he had pushed her back into the door. For a moment it felt as if her heart was going to bust out of her chest as their lips met again. This wasn't a spark it would a full raging fire setting off a building of fireworks. Never before did she understand how women could go weak in the knees over a silly kiss until now. Her fingers cover in satin elbow length purple gloves gripped his jacket. It was as he was the one thing grounding her to this planet. Andi didn't pay much attention to the trailer shaking and the world changing around them.
When she pulled away they were no longer in her home at the circus. Instead they stood in a grey and white field. She looked around and could see the white twinkle of lights in the dark city backdrop. Her mouth opened to speak but nothing came out and now that she listened she realized nothing was able to be heard. She watched the tears that had been on her cheeks lift and float away in a twinkling awe. It flew away to a bright and pale moon that she stopped to stare at. "What is this place?" she asked him not with a physical voice but instead it would sound in his mind.
The sunken place may have silenced her body but the power mutation in her mind were combating it. Slowly she started to walk down a path that appeared before her and it led her to a running stream. The water bustled and the droplets that splashed moved to float over her like a twinkling night sky. The moons ray kissing the drops to make them glimmer in her amazed eyes. Standing under a old weeping willow Tree she watched the water run and litter fish jump through the current. "Its so beautiful here. Did you make create this?" Andi's voice softly asked Shawn and her body turned to face him.
This place just seemed like such a perfect get away but she wasnt sure if this was enough to hide them from gavin. Surely they couldn't stay here forever but for now she just wanted to know more. There was a pull that was dragging her towards this man even if she was being stubborn about it.

Shawn had been here before. He said nothing back as the light ash rained from the sky and fell on his shoulders. It collected there. The ash rained from the sky 24/7 here. He didn't know where it was from, but it smudged on your fingers and was about shin deep. It never got any higher than that. Shawn was surprised when he heard her voice in his head. A loud beaming voice that seemed to echo around the chambers of his skull. At first it was pretty intense. He was used to having his own internal monologue but come on. Shawn stared at her with soft eyes. He wasn't really angry and really he was more just frightened. He didn't know how to explain it. This place had rules...… Rules that he knew were complicated, but it was better than the alternative.
"This is the place where all shadows live. A world of shadow. I call it The Sunken Place." He said with a thought. He wasn't sure if she heard him and he watched her face for verification. "I phase in and out of realities. I'm a dimension jumper... I did not create this, I simply found it in my travels." And that's what it was too. His ability to jump. He called it "Traveling." as if it were poetic to find yourself in other dimensions. Shawn couldn't help the small smile spreading across his face as he watched her explore. It was like that for him the first time too. Before he became comfortable with this place and settled in to call it a second home. Shawn followed slowly behind her. Never more than a few steps away. He almost forgot that they were supposedly hunted. Other people existed here, though they could not be heard. Their presence merely a shadow moving through the world. People shape shadows moved all around them, but took no notice. They were nothing more than shadows moving across the world in the real world.
A touch of light and color splashed on her hand as she reached for the river. Positive energy brought this place to life. Though it was special the sunken place held a dark secret. The sunken place physically existed inside Shawn's head. They were literally standing in his sub conscious and the sunken place was the personifications of Shawn's fears. The longer he stayed here the more the things he was afraid of would creep slowly into his mind. Though for now he was fine. Smiling away he had gotten used to controlling the bullshit. Shawn had faced most of his fears along time ago. The only one that ever really bothered him anymore was his fear of being alone. He couldn't admit that he needed people. Most certainly not to himself.
But Shawn watched quietly. He had been here before. Not just to the sunken place but under this very tree. As a child. His fingers ran up the bark in quiet wonder as he saw the claw and lash marks in the tortured bark. Panic stricken destruction laid into the old twisted tree. Something had scared the shit out of him many years ago in this very spot. The last time the circus was in town. He could almost hear the screams of a child ringing in his ears like a painful memory, but just as quickly as the terrible nostalgia had come it was gone. Shawn didn't really remember it beyond vague bad feelings and cloudy memories. His fingers moved over the bark a little more as he forgot about the tree completely and turned his back on it. Leaning against the tree he crossed his arms and watched Andi. "You know....We're safe here. Nothing can get us when we're in our own separate reality. Maybe you can finally explain just what is going on and if you'd like.... Afterwards I can show you something I've never shown anyone before."
Pulling out a flask from his jacket pocket Shawn unscrewed the cap and took a swig. Offering a drop to her he held it out for her before he'd put it back inside his jacket. Alternate realities and demonically possessed circus beauties? He needed a bit of the strong shit before he heard this explanation, but still he needed to hear it. He had finally understood what that pull was that was drawing him to the circus. And though it sounded fucking crazy as all hell he knew. He felt his mother here. Not in a literal sense that he thought she was here but he could feel her here somehow. His mother died when he was a kid. Or at least he thought. Shawn's memories tampered with and changed as a boy in his last visit here. Changed by Andi herself.
His mother was still alive and she was here. He was drawn to his mother like a powerful force. His mother was his angel. A talisman to keep away the darkness. She always had been. Something about her mutation made his mutation stronger the closer they got to each other. Slipping his hand into the pocket of his jacket his fingers felt the rough smooth edges of an old light switch. He flicked it to the on position causing his hair and eyes to flicker bright white for a moment as powerful positive soothing emotions ran through him. He felt safe with it turned on. His fears couldn't find him even in the sunken palace of fear and grey washed silence.
Shawn had always been afraid of the dark. Especially as a little kid. Maybe that was why the dark dimension scared him so fucking much. Howling screeching monsters living in a portal of pitch black. Who knows what the fuck was in there. He first saw a glimpse of that place as a kid and it scared him so much his mother gave him this light switch. She gave it too him and told him that when he was scared..... All he had to do was turn on the light switch and it would drive the darkness away. Silly superstitious bullshit but even as an adult he found comfort in it. He had never had that much comfort for most of his life and Andi was part of the reason why. They were fated to meet again. And based on her visions, fated to end up together. It seems as if Shawn was drawn to Andromeda almost as powerfully as he was drawn to silence and the kiss of quiet ash living alone in his own private realities.

It was a blur of grey and whit light mixing together that had her in an awe. She really hadn't noticed the ash raining down on them until the specks his her elegant floral pattern dress. Each speck landed on her clothing and with her own power combating his it made small areas of her clothing flicker color before returning the the gray and white state. kneeling by the river she pulled her glove off and one fingertip touched the water. This caused it to turn to a vibrant blue as the multicolored fish jumped up the stream. They were beautiful colors of pinks, purples, blues.
Pulling her hand away it returned to its normal state and she rose to her feet.He explained that he didn't create the place but merely stumbled across it. She had a feeling that is was something much deeper than that but she wasn't going to push it. Moving over to Shawn she took the flask and sipped the liquid before he slid it back into his jacket. This place seemed safe enough and this man wanted answers to the riddles she was confusing him with. There was a soft smile on her lips as her hand reached out and touched his cheek.
With a simple touch she manged to bring the vibrancy of their natural color back. "There is so much to explain...Things ive seen looking into your mind. Possibilities of the future going by like a movie in my mind. Some things I fear to speak because after they are spoken I cannot take them back." Andi spoke as she pulled her hand away and let them both turn back into grey and white figures. "I saw a future of us together, A quiet and happy life with nights spent watching movies and reading a child to sleep." Even though it wasn't her physical voice it was still hesitant.
"A future that can not come to pass because there is a darkness in me. An ancient evil being that wants nothing but impulse and destruction. One that can not be allowed to see power or it would be then end of you. It will never let me have what I want in a family and happiness. For this being wants to try and steal my firstborn as its host." the words though in her mind traveled to his easily as headphones playing music. "Maybe I can not have my happiness but I can help you. The reason you feel like you belong to this circus is because you do. Your mother had come with you for a safe haven after the death of your father."
Turning away from Shawn she would look at the bright moon in the sky. "I was no more than a child back then. We had become friends within the weeks to pass but Gavin wanted to use us as a weapon for something terrible... Even though I had seen possibilities of our future i altered your memory and pushed you off the grounds as it was teleported to our new location....It was the only way to save everyone. You mother is still in the circus but she has no memory of you. I took them to save her the pain of grief and loss."
This all sound like something out of the twilight zone and she feared his reaction. Anger and hatred was what she had expected in return as she ran her bare fingers over the fabric of the glove she held. "We are all prisoners of Gavin and I couldn't bear the risk to bare a powerful child with such potential of evil for my father to control. Had I known you wer the mutant her was coming to take I would've stopped him."

It was all kind of a lot to take in. Prophecies and potential families. Things that were, could be and never would be again. Shawn said nothing. Through all of it. His expression said bland on his face with no emotion to facilitate the heartfelt admission. Moonlight shattered down on the back of his shoulders. Making him shine. Shawn had the shine alright. The gift of great potential, what his mother used to call "The Shine." His fists were clinched and his jaw tight, but he wasn't angry. Surprisingly enough he wasn't mad about the revelations spinning through his mind. His mother was..... Alive? He slow dripped the information into his mind dissecting it piece by piece. But although it sounded like terrible heavy shit none of it struck him as particularly bad news. His mother was alive and he was fated to this woman. Not cursed to be alone like the lone drinking asshole at the bar with the sour shit expression on his face angry at everyone else's happiness. How was that a bad thing?
Everything here existed with just a little bit more looseness. Sharp, well defined edges had a floaty feeling to them. The edges of his leather jacket swayed like a thin smoke layered off of it. Everything felt thin... Hard to control and slightly ghostly. Smoke rising off his shoulders as he continued to shine in the nightly moon drifted around his neck. His collar was popped but it wasn't intentional. It had been a side effect of the last time she grabbed at his jacket embraced in a earth moving kiss. Now he reached up and touched his lips with the tips of his fingers. He didn't think. Not that his mind wasn't racing but he didn't want to broadcast every wild crazy rambling thought that burst into his mind like a freight train. Shawn turned his back on her. Disappearing in a cloud of smoky shadow Shawn reappeared a few feet away. On top of a nearby hill.
Looking over the edge he could see the city below. He could see the twinkling lights and the soundless flare of a city who didn't know about or give a shit about his problems. She was herer all this time. All this time he felt alone in the world his mother had been right here. In this traveling circus. Completely unaware of him. His fingers found the light switch in his pocket and slowly he flicked it to the off position. His hair grew darker with the flick of the switch. Not the same silky silver but a blacker color all together as the thought of Gavin entered his thoughts. For he was pissed at that man. He stole everything!. His eyes slowly flood with black tint. Soules and deep they swam with anger. The ground began to split open beneath his feet. As if the pits of hell were welcoming him home. Oozing black puddles bubbled at his feet. The dark dimension was calling. All that hatred. All that anger growing within his rib cage was bubbling up to the surface. And though he didn't realize it because he was blind or dense or just too stubborn to notice..... It was only when he was pissed off that the portal to the dark dimension began to rise. All that blackness, all that oozing dark energy was negative emotion seething within him. Bleeding through the cracks and filling every part of his life. It was his literal darkness battling angels in a struggle for control over his mind.
Shawn would have been consumed to this rage if words hadn't settled the raging current. "We are all prisoners of Gavin..." The rest of what she had had fallen into silence. He didn't hear it as a single beaming thought penetrated his mind. "He'll pay." Shawn thought. His fist was clinched tightly, but his hands loosened as he turned and saw her again. The angel on his shoulder. The person who had protected him as a kid even though she was just a kid herself. She had looked out for him. His guardian angel... Still trying to do what was best for him. To sacrifice herself to this freakshow in order for him to get out and be free. But why? Why was he so fucking important to her? He didn't have the same memories as her. He didn't have those childhood memories of them playing in the circus when he was little and the time they had spent together. It was washed away like sand on a beach.
Shawn's smoky visage moved closer. Each step through the dusty silence seemed to pulse with white light. Spilling out around the edges of his boots and pushing through the field in a wave. His hair flickered white as his expression changed. Black became white as darkness lost the struggle to light. She was power, she was beauty. She was the soft light that looked out for him. She was his light in the dark ocean of rage that threatened to rip him apart at the seems. Shawn felt grounded, connected. More than any other floozy one night stand he had taken back to his room for the night. He could feel a numbness on his lips. Her lips still lingered there, a sweet taste and a hint of nostalgia. They had kissed once as kids. Two kids who were friends who didn't know any better, and suddenly a white light wave shot through him so powerful that it over rode her ability to block out his memory. He.....Remembered.
With a forceful clarity that was like a double barrel under your chin, he fucking remembered. The two of them sitting out on a log. The sound of cicadas howling in the night as they both ate a piece of funnel cake and watched the dancing firefly bugs in the sky. It was peaceful. It was sweet. The smell of the circus filled his nostrils in that moment as he saw this with unbelievable clarity. Almost as powerfully as if he had a vision himself. He remembered. The soft orange glow of the lanterns hanging on the caravans and the laughter of mutants singing some drunken song off in the distance. "Andromeda. Will we be friends forever?" He asked with stains of chocolate on his slightly pudgy cheeks. She laughed and replied "Of Course!" Shawn had a tear in his eye as he took another slow step forward. White pulsing light shot out from around his foot as his hair was burning brightly now. He was mere feet away from her. He was back in that moment. Back on that night in his head.
Another tear slipped down his cheek as he took another slow step towards her. Still he hadn't said a word. And on that hot night as kids he kissed her for the first time. Nothing could have been more innocent. Shawn was standing in front of her now. He hadn't spoke for the longest time, but he was almost sure that somehow she had read his mind and saw the same memory he just did. Standing in front of her he shifted his weight between his feet as his hand swam up the sides of her cheeks. He had found her. When he didn't even remember he was looking for her. "Andromeda......I see you." He thought and the flicker of firefly bug's lit up in this magical moment against the greywash background. Just a splash of color in a world of silence.

This was a night that she certainly never expected to come to pass after she sent Shawn away. For years she had relived the memories of that summer spent just having fun as kids. It was the only time she had something resembling a normal childhood. Nights spent riding the rides and she remembered Shawn spending all his money to win prizes for her. The games were rigged but he had been determined to win her that plush pink bear that she adored. All the prizes and everything she had to remember that summer was in a ivory box on her bedside stand.
Things had changed but she had never forgotten what she had given up. Her gaze was moving over Shawn and it had fallen to radio silence between the two of them. She could hear his thoughts moving rapidly and it was almost more deafening than the silence between them. There were so many things that she herself wanted to know about his life. Had it been decently fulfilling and did he find some family of his own? Sure she could have all the answers but his was the one mind she never tried to meddle in. When he finally turned back to her she had fished something out of the pocket of the floral fabric.
As he started to approach she could sense the memory on his mind and a tear went down her cheek. She could see the memory playing in her head clear as day and she knew he saw it. now she wasn't in this new world with a stranger but instead with someone she had cared so much about. Enough to sacrifice her happiness to keep him safe and her eyes closed to remember the scene of the lightning bugs. Such a mystifying sight on that summer night and the perfect setting for their first kiss. when she did open her eyes it was feeling warn rough hands on her soft ivory skinned cheek.
Her breathing hitched a bit as she inched closer and took one of his hand sin her own. In his hand was an old worn down strip of photos from a booth. It was the same night they shared their kiss and the last night she had spent with him. Her heart skipped as her gaze met his again and he spoke that he actually saw her. "I've missed you Shawn for so many years." The tears rolling down her cheek lifted into the air and turned into firefly's twinkling in the dark sky. Leaning up on the tip toes of her healed feet she let her lips press to his again. This time her hands slid under the jacket he wore sliding up his chest onto his shoulders. Rolling the jacket off them as she kissed him with the longing that she had felt over the years. The thud of her heart was heavy in her chest and her fingers gripped his shirt. When he pushed closer she back up until she leaned against the tree and broke the kiss. Breathing heavily andi looked up at him as her eyes caught the twinkle of the moon. All her emotions were starting to bubble um and cause her to grow more nervous by the moment. The was the literal man of her dreams and she wasn't exactly experienced when it came to these things. "You've grown so much in the years. All your baby fat is gone." She spoke into his mind and her fingers gently ran over her thin a chiseled cheek.

Silence and madness. Reason and despair. The thready pounding of his heart and his inability to hold his breath a moment longer came crashing down around him. Shawn was never that much of a romantic. He didn't believe in such things because life had been sour grapes. The memories he had before the fools were synthetic and mostly it was a sad pitiful story. Not one anyone would be proud of but at least it had always been his until now. Now he wasn't sure what to believe. His life had fallen apart in pieces. Everything he had ever believed was considered a lie and he felt hollow. The only saving grace was her hand moving up his shoulders.
A soft warm touch to break bad the enveloping darkness. If it wasn't for her soft light, and her noble sacrifice darkness might have consumed him long ago. Though it was true he still succumbed to his violent nature. The Fools brought that out of him and they had given him the only family that ever gave a damn about him. He thought his mother was dead and that the Fools had been the only family he had left. He was wrong. He had his mother and andromeda. He was almost ashamed that he was able to forget such a friendship. Shawn wanted to bleed into the kiss. To flicker in smoke and burn into her arms against the tree, but he pulled back. He felt like an asshole. He didn't feel like he deserved this reunion if he was able to forget about her in the first place. Turning away Shawn looked down at the ground. He was unable to greet her gaze with piercing white eyes that flickered. As if static ran through them. Dueling emotions claiming his heart fought over his conviction. Shame and love pulling him in two different directions.
The sunken shadow realm had always been his private oasis. His oasis in the ash where he could retreat from his problems and just wallow in the silence. He had never actually brought someone here before. Andromeda was the first to ever exist in this plain with him. And no, when he was a kid he didn't know about his powers. He was just some foolish kid with dreams of changing the world. Never thought he would grow up to be a scumbag criminal who actually was part of the festering problem. Shawn stole a glance of her form. Her back was too the moonlight and she seemed to glow with silver lunar brilliance. Silver....Like him. The fireflies around her sparkled in the night and there was something almost magical about her.
Shawn's heart broke when she said she missed him all these years. He didn't know what was worse. Forgetting.... Or having been forgotten. Either way was a shit salad loaded with crutons. Turning back to her he sighed and looked up in the sky. As if the sky held any answers at all. Ash rained down on his face, a few random specs landing on his eyebrows and his lower lips as his head slowly tilted down to meet her gaze. "I can't believe I forgot about you.... What the fuck is wrong with me?" The words echoed in his mind drenched in guilt. Though all he wanted was to taste her lips one more time. To fall into her arms and let her protect. To have her say it wasn't his fault and absolve him of his guilt, but that was selfish shit. He was just a selfish guy.
Shawn looked at her. "I fell in with some people. A good group of guys and girls honestly. They're the closest thing I ever had to family after you. I want you to meet them.....Fuck. You gotta meet them!" The words hit him almost at the same time it hit her. It dawned on him that Silver Shadow the self proclaimed loner was going to be bringing a queen back to the Fools. At least he hoped she would become his queen. They had lost so much time already and still his mind was doing laps around itself trying to catch up. There was so much to process. He still wanted to see his mother, he wanted to rip this Gavin asshole to shreds and only after that would he be ready to leave and take Andromeda with him. Shawn moved closer. His hands settled over her hips and her jerked her forward roughly. She was his once and he lost her. He wouldn't let that happen again. "You're my girl Andi. I didn't know it back when we were kids, but even then you were my girl and you still are. I want to meet this Gavin Motherfucker so I can rip his fucking head off. Then I'm going to take you home. You belong with the Fools. And with me."

All the seconds of the days that had past were something so horribly bitter sweet. The night last night they were together and had spent most of the day crying. It had been so hard to get up and use make up to brush away the puffy red eyes. She had made herself up and as pretty as a dream for their last date. The night was perfect for the first time when she left the circus grounds. Stopping at a train station they watched a train pull up. "Lets run away together. We can see the world." The younger version of Shawn had declared as he looked at the train.
It was hard to look him in the eye knowing this was the end of their track together. "Thats sounds nice.... Make sure you go out and see the world for us..." her younger self spoke and before he could reply her bubblegum flavored lips kissed him. Her fingers on his temples for a few moments and the kiss broke as he fell onto the floor of the train. "ALL ABOARD!!" The conductor called and she pushed his legs out of the way of the sliding doors. As the doors closed tears ran down her cheeks then in the next few moments she heard the train start to leave the station.
Falling to her knees she cried for an hour or so long after the train vanished from her sight. She had replaced his memories and left him on that train with a book bag of cash the had saved over the summer. Just a note inside for him to remember he could be a hero was the only thing he had of her. Her eyes opened when Shawn pulled away from her kiss and she was out of breath. She could see the emotional turmoil in his eyes and she wanted to just make it go away. This was what she had feared for so many years and it was heartbreaking. almost as bad as knowing she had been long forgotten for so long.
"It wasn't your fault. I made you forget and hid those memories deep in your mind. To spare you the pain I knew I..." Her words didn't finish as she looked down from his gaze and tears came from her eyes. When he spoke about falling in with some good people it eased a bit of her pain. Knowing that his life had some meaning to it after he had gone on made it worth it. "I want to meet them to.." She thought to him as a smile came onto her painted lips as she was jerked closer. Roughly enough but the was no resistance and she pressed against his chest. Though her heart froze a bit when he spoke of going back to face gavin. "We cant go back there. Gavin will kill you if he senses you wont bend to his will."
Her mind started to get a bit frantic as her gaze stayed locked on his. Leaning up she pressed her lips to his cheek and pulled away before moving towards a small bridge over the stream. "Gavin raised me, Hes the only real family ive had and i dont wanna see him hurt you...I'm weak and im not sure i cant protect you again." Even without a real voice the one in her head was just as sad as can be. "Please let me go back alone, I will sneak your mother out safely then i will get away once shes gone. I dont wanna loose you to him again."

Shawn listened to her plan and he listened without interruption. It was hard filtering his thoughts and staying quiet mentally. Even though the words Fuck that wanted to scream at the top of his mental lungs. Shawn's visage as did Andi's flickered with static. As if they were holograms and they weren't really there. It was just a glitch. They were here in this world technically, though in reality they were only passing shadows dancing in the night. "No." He said defiantly after a moment to think about it. Shawn of old might've tried to find a peaceful way to deal with shit. He wanted to be a hero and heros protect people. Even the bad guys. But he was a fool. And fools get retribution. Retaliation was the order of the day and he wouldn't bend or break his code even for the girl he loved. It wasn't who he was.
With a flickering pulse of light they were back. Crickets chirped and the air seemed muggier. Less muted for sure and thick with tension as the sound of yelling cut across the grass. They were back in the spinning dancing world of color and sound. The place where assholes were loudest and violent thoughts were the most fun to bring to the light of day. Shawn turned to Andi. He didn't remember that night at the train station. The sorrowful good byes or the good bye kiss. He only had that one precious memory to hang on to, but it was powerful enough to awaken everything he had ever felt for her. She was still a stranger in his eyes. A beautiful nostalgic stranger like lovers kept apart by a sea of stars. She was everything to him and yet.... He knew little about her other that his heart was hers completely and he would die to protect it. Just like he would die trying to kill any motherfucker who ever heard her and a single prevailing name skyrocketed through his mind. "Gavin...You piece of shit." He didn't know if she could still read his mind, but if she was reading it she would sense his intention of murder.
The Fools didn't make compromise. And call it arrogant pride or dick measuring alpha dominance.... This night could only end in blood. Shawn was torn between the woman he loved the violence he was very very fond of. Shawn heard angry voices searching the grounds. His voice could be angrier and as he stood here he gripped his silver locks and grinded his teeth. Fuck. Going off half cocked and exploding on her old man could make him loose her all over again. Even if he was a piece of shit she cared about him in some regard, but he couldn't let this stand. This was kill worthy. Every ounce of him wanted to be soaked in violence and dripping with vengeance. Broken bones and butterfly kisses. He didn't give a shit what it cost him. His mind was made up.
"Get out of the circus Andi. I will find you when this is over." And he would. He would tear the world apart brick by brick to find her again, but tonight Gavin belonged to him and his violence. Shawn was not an extrememly powerful mutant. At least, not really at this moment. He held within him the potential for something unimaginable but as a shadow manipulating teleport..... He was only so so. His fists and elbows and knees did most of his fighting. This was much to personal for a gun. He was going to beat that motherfucker to death with his bare hands. Save the bullets for people he didn't give a shit about. A berretta stirred quietly under the back of his jacket. It was tucked neatly into his pants. Shawn, was a bad guy and every bit of his appearance declared it. He didn't grow up to be the hero she wanted him to be. He grew up to be the asshole she feared Gavin might turn him into.
And for all her hopes for him he still turned out wrong. Just a fucked up damaged little boy who refused to allow fears and darkness rule him. Shawn wasn't afraid of dying. He was afraid of living. This new possibility at his feet and all he could think about was diving head first into a fight that could possibly implode the whole fairytale. He was his own worst enemy. Without giving Andromeda a moment to protest Shawn shoved her out of the way and behind him with a passing hand. It wasn't rough or violent but just a slight shove to show her that he was intending on handling his business like a man. His mother didn't raise no coward. Thanks to this motherfucker Gavin his mother didn't raise him at all.
Everything that he could have ever been in his life was taken by Gavin. He altered the course of his history to where he became the man he was today. A man that Shawn didn't even like to acknowledge in the mirror most of the time. He gave up his innocent values and his childhood dreams and became a selfish loathsome piece of shit with no regard for others at all. That all changed when he saw the emerald tinted reflection of his tears stained face in the eyes of a lost lover. No, he wasn't innocent, but neither was Gavin. "Fools don't compromise." He said gruffly as he began to march in the direction of the shouting voices. Little did he know that Gavin Sinclaire was not a man of honor. He didn't value a fair fight and he most certainly had no qualms about his mutant friends stepping in to make the journey more difficult.
